It gives us great pleasure to announce that Help Peru’s Annual GALA is coming back live in 2022!
We are especially delighted to invite you, as an important supporter of Help Peru, to join us on 6 October 2022 at the NYC Metropolitan Club. We promise you a fun-filled evening with engaging speakers, wonderful music, and tasty food & beverages. You will have an opportunity to learn about our successes as well as our vision for the future.
But more importantly, this is an opportunity for you to make a difference in so many lives!
As you know, the last two years have been hard on people across the globe due to the COVID pandemic. But it has been devastating on Peru’s most vulnerable populations: indigenous communities, rural families, those who work in the informal sector, and women & girls. In fact, Peru’s poverty rate increased by 10% because of this pandemic. And it is personal – many of us have lost family and friends to this scourge.
Nevertheless, Help Peru kept working. We continued providing support to key partners and directly responded to the pandemic through emergency relief assistance. Our programs served well over 37,000 people in 2021. We couldn’t have done this without your support.
The communities we serve are both resilient and entrepreneurial, what they lack is access to opportunities. This is where we come in. Our programs not only provide access to quality education and good healthcare, but they also protect our important natural resources. And we do this by ensuring that whatever our programs focus on specifically, they must address women’s empowerment/gender equity. Our goal is to ensure that our work not only makes a difference in people’s lives but is also sustainable long after we have moved on.
We are re-visioning, re-organizing, and sharpening our focus to better serve Peru’s most vulnerable populations. Now more than ever is the time for doubling our efforts as we enter the next stage of our organizational development: Building a Better Future: Strengthening Partnerships-Expanding Reach.
