The Association Danza Perú, known as D1, was founded in 2005 by dancer Vania Masías with the aim of providing artistic training and personal development to young people at risk and vulnerability in Peru. D1 provides a space for young people to be integral and versatile, to articulate their artistic abilities and skills with their personal and professional goals and expectations.
In 2023 Help Peru begins its partnership with D1 to implement the Integral Formation Program aimed at young people between 15 and 20 years of age from high-risk and vulnerable areas through dance, especially urban dance. The program strengthens the artistic and socioemotional skills of young people during three years of training in which dance and a multidisciplinary pedagogy, allow to enhance the artistic and technical skills of young people and especially their intrapersonal and interpersonal skills. In addition to the solid curriculum that D1 has built based on its years of experience, the program has two allies: the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas – UPC and the Project Management Institute that will enrich the employability and entrepreneurship skills as well as the soft skills of the young participants.
