221 lives saved from Covid (and counting!)

221 lives saved from Covid (and counting!)

Thanks to our incredible community of Help Peru supporters, 221 people recovered from COVID-19 at home from May to July.

In those 2.5 months, the 100 concentrators sent to Lima and Piura treated 240 patients at home. Only 26 of them required hospitalization. Unfortunately, 19 patients passed away. The concentrators are still being borrowed by Covid patients and keep helping people every day.

Teodoro is one of the patients who not only recovered, but can enjoy life with his family again – like many others!

Meet our new ambassador!

Juana Burga, Peruvian top model and actress, is a heartfelt ambassador for her country and an active humanitarian. She seeks to raise awareness about the importance of improving people’s quality of life, equal rights, the empowerment of latinas, and caring for the environment.
Throughout her career as a model, she has walked the most important catwalks (Paris, Milan, New York), and has been the image of campaigns for renowned brands like Max Mara, L’Óreal, or Dior. She has starred in the covers of international magazines such as Harper’s Bazar or Vogue. She’ll star in the Peruvian film “The most feared skin”.
We are thrilled to have Juana officially represent Help Peru.

Make their wish come true!

Peru is celebrating 200 years as an independent nation, but has the country come as far as Peruvians expected? What changes would Peruvians really like to see in the next 20 years?Learn and support their (very specific) hopes during our annual campaign, in September.

Peru’s bicentennial started on July 28th. To celebrate it, we organized a virtual pisco cocktails masterclass, where we learned to prepare Pisco Mule (aka Cholo Mule), and Pisco Punch.
